Our mission is to enrich and enhance the lives of our youth in Canton, Ohio through sports and by emphasizing education. We also want our organization to be known for its no non-sense and fair approach in teaching kids through honesty and fairness. We will reinforce behavior to our youth such as, respect, loyalty, friendship, honesty and teamwork. We will be taking these traits and combining them with our love of children and sports to carry out or dream of inspiring young people to be the best that they can be.
We hope to have at least 540 kids in our league. Our goal is to have at least eight teams in each division with thirty players on each team. This full contact league will be divided into two divisions based on age. The "B" league (youth ages 9-10) and the "A" league (youth ages 11-12) will be competitive in nature. By providing a safe, organized and competitive learning environment, children will learn values such as teamwork, effort and achievement in preparation for everyday life.
We have been working feverishly around the clock so that our league can be up and ready by the early part of 2008. We want to positively influence the inner city youth of the greater Canton area as soon as possible.
We have already partnered up with the J Babe Stearn Community Center, which has been serving the community since 1949 and we are in the process of collaborating with Lynn Wafler - Director of Facilities and Physical Activities and Jeff Lab - Athletic Director for McKinley High School.
