It is once again time to dust off those clubs and get in those practice rounds in preparation for the 2009 23st annual

Jack Babe Stearn Charity Memorial Golf Classic.  As you know the Stearn Center, formally the Canton Police  Boys Club, continues to be the heart of Canton Mitey Mite Baseball which involves participation from over 800 Boys and Girls, not to mention volunteer coaches and district managers throughout the City of Canton.  Additionally, the Stearn Center hosts the premier High School, Junior High, and Middle School Summer and Winter Basketball Leagues with participation from 1500 youth. 

  In addition to these fine athletic programs,

“The Stearn Center” offers many other activities to the community, including Aerobics, Racquetball, Martial Arts, Wrestling, and a well equipped fitness facility, all of which require volunteers and money to maintain.  Throughout the years we have been thankful for the support of many key benefactors including The United Way, corporate, local businesses, and individual moneys through various fundraising activities, and this year is no exception. 

  Skyland Pines Golf Course and Banquet Facility will be hosting the 21st annual Jack Babe Stearn Charity Memorial Golf Classic on August 14th, with a 1:00 PM Shotgun start.

  This 4 man scramble event has proven to be one of our largest fund-raisers of the year.  This would not be possible if it weren’t for the generosity of organizations and individuals like yourselves getting involved and making the J Babe Stearn Center a safe and constructive place for our youth today.
